Excel-User is an independent, reader-supported guide to Excel and financial-modeling certifications and courses. We answer a narrow set of questions in depth: which certification or course is worth paying for, for whom, what it costs, what the exam tests, and how to prepare.
History
Excel-User.com has published Excel guidance since 2007, originally as a how-to blog covering formulas, charts, PivotTables and VBA. In September 2026 the site was refocused on certifications and courses, because that is where readers face real decisions with real money attached and where independent, verified information was hardest to find.
Who writes it
Content is produced by the Excel-User Editorial Team and published under that byline. The site is independently owned and operated, and its publisher is responsible for every page. We do not employ a panel of experts and we do not invent credentials: no one on the site claims to hold a certification unless the page says so and can show it. Where we have not taken a course or exam ourselves, the page says so in plain words.
We use AI tools to help gather and draft material. Every factual claim is checked by a person against the primary source before publication, and every guide carries a last-verified date. Our editorial methodology describes the process in detail.

Corrections
Prices, curricula and exam rules change. If you find something outdated or wrong, we want to know: give us the page, the claim and, if you have it, the official page that shows the current figure. We correct errors promptly and note material changes in the update log at the bottom of each guide.
