Privacy policy
Last updated: . This policy explains what information Excel-User.com (“we”, “the site”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Usage data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive. It collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4 in a form we can access. We use this data in aggregate to improve the site.
- Affiliate link clicks. When you click an affiliate link, our link-management software records the click (page, time, link) so that we can see which guides are useful and so that the provider’s network can attribute a purchase to us. The provider’s network (for example Impact) may set its own cookies on the provider’s site; those are governed by the provider’s and network’s privacy policies.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, request, user agent) for security and troubleshooting.
We do not require accounts, we do not sell personal information, and we do not run advertising at present.
Cookies
The site sets cookies for analytics (Google Analytics) and may set a cookie when you click an affiliate link so that the click can be attributed. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site will still work. Google’s own description of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on.
Third-party sites
Links to Microsoft, Certiport, course providers and other sites lead to services with their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
Your choices and rights
You can browse without providing any personal information. If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete your message. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws, and residents of the EU/UK, may have additional rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to opt out of certain processing; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Requests can be made to the site’s publisher; see about Excel-User.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
